family of five | sneak peek

December 13, 2011

well not really a sneak. they have already ordered. i am sooo behind on blogging!

i love shooting families. and we got to go urban here and that was a fun change up!

downtown redding is just full of color and smells. we saw a short but loud train roll by.

we ran away from someone’s very recent barfo mess (not from us yeck!) and the smell of burning uhhh…cannibus was very strong.

but really a fun session. i am amazed at what we were able to grab in 30 minutes!

love the B family! <3 xx

moved over a little bit after the exciting train went by.

full of smells that had us running for a safe spot by the downtown mall.

doesn’t she look amazing? ahhh! such a gorgeous family!

and those were THE last snaps i grabbed of this session. thanks B family!

Tree Bling 2011-4484

deck the halls with bows

December 2, 2011

this is long. so if you have coffee or tea…you might want to grab it… 😀

so my goal to hit 50 entries on my 2011 life right now 365 project might not make it to 50. but rather than count it as a failure, i am going to feel good about 30+ entries i DID make over the year!

in my facebook feeds i see so many lovely and perfect christmas images. children dressed gorgeously. better homes and gardens trimmed trees- so perfect in all their accessories. i love looking.

i used to feel somewhat ashamed of our own annual tree. it’s not a magazine layout set up. but this year, i revel in our ordinary tree with our homemade ornaments.

christmas is a symbol of a birth of a promise fulfilled by God. one tiny little baby in a manger changed the world. non-believers you can skim past this and roll your eyes. 😉

but it’s what

This is our tree too. Heck, last year my preschooler made an ornament outta a paper towel. Just a paper towel with a hole punch and yarn. Not even colored on. Yup. Loved this post. So true, so sweet. Perfect.

...morning dew | life. right now. | a 365 project | thirty three

December 2, 2011

…morning dew. stop and smell the roses amy!

i am so behind on blogging! i’ve been busy being a mom and runing a two-part business. holidays. and homeschool? insanity!

macro is a not an easy thing for me. i adore looking at it but i personally have a hard time ‘seeing’ in through my own lens. my mil noted that there were dew drops all over one morning, making the grass look like it was kissed with snow and maybe i would want to get that on macro? see. something i didn’t ‘see’ that someone else had to point out. 😛

so i pulled on my blue polka dotted rubber rainboots over my jammy bottoms and grabbed a whatever jacket and my camera with my 60mm on it.

i got a few shots that i just loved. i’m not a flower girl. we have roses all over our property but if my mil didn’t maintain them…they would die. they are lovely to look at but i can never remember how to properly feed them, trim, how often and then water them? ha!

but these were so kissed with dew and so shiny as the sun was coming up that i had to stop and literally..smell the roses.

and photograph them of course.
